This was a commission for a co-worker.  I hope she loves it.  I am very proud of it.

Red and White Stitched Double Weave Table Runner

This was a new process of weaving that I wanted to learn.  It was lots of fun because of all the different patterns--plus the weaving went so quickly.  Love love love it!

Because it's double weave, there is a top side and a bottom side.  The way the "stitching" works in this project is that it brings up some of the bottom threads to the top (and therefore some of the top threads to the bottom) and creates diamond patterns.

It was 6 weeks in the making, but finally this project is finished.  I like them, but don't ever want to take on this project again!

Blue Red and Yellow Cotton Placemats and Table Runner

These four placemats and table runner are a commissioned project. They are made using perle cotton and a "slub" cotton called taffy. I think they are simple, casual AND elegant, if that's possible.

btw, the table runner is short because, alas, there is no cure for a too short warp. I hate that.

Merry LATE Christmas to My Mama

These placemats are a Christmas gift for my mother. Four of them are from Alyssa and Elizabeth and the other 2 are early mother's day gifts from me. They are 100% cotton in gold, lavendar and a creamy yellow. The pattern is called an "M&W".

Place mats for my music teacher

This is one of eight placemats that I made for my music teacher, Jan Mesrobian. David saw them and said, "they look rustic." And I told him that that is exactly what I was striving for. They are 100% cotton "slub" yarn (thick and thin) and so so very soft.

Placemats

These placemats are a Christmas gift for Elizabeth, except for 2 (the turquose and maroon ones) that I am keeping for myself. They are ade using all cotton in a patten called advancing twill. I think they look very fancy and complicated. Almost embroidered, actually.

Double Weave Tool Holder

This may be the coolest thing I've ever made. It is made using a double weave technique that leaves the sides open. When you change which yarns are on "top" and which are on "bottom" you create horizontal pockets that work, in this case, as tool holders. I had a great time making it.

Pillow

I have some issue with following directions, or there is some issue with the directions I follow, OR there is some issue with the yardage reported on yarns. At any rate, I did not have enough burgandy solid to make two pillows, so ended up only making one. Here it is. It looks great in my living room. I like the yarn, but don't know if it's worth the expense as there are other similar yarns that are cheaper. Use will let me know.

23 Coasters

Or Mug Rugs if you're hip...there are 23 of these, I've only highlighted a few t show the colors. They are really cute...more will be on the way, but I've had to take a break becuase I got a bit bored!

Eight Rainbow Placemats

I am actually not really happy with these placemats. They came as a kit and the instructions were abyssmal. I didn't have a clear sense of where I was going and how much yarn I had to do it with.

At any rate, they show up nicely in the picture. The girls want them really badly, so they may be the first thing in their linen basket! Starting early for college next year!

2 for 1

I wanted to do a gamp after seeing samples of them in several of the pattern books. A gamp is basically a sampler. You thread rows according to different threadings (in this case 6) and then treadle (weave) using the treadling for each threading patterns, thus creating 6 rows. Two 6X6 gamps were thus created on one warp using harrisville shetland wool. David's is the multicolored one. The red and white one will grace the walls of our living room.

A set of 11 coasters

Will let you know how absorbant they are but they're awfully cute...and you can understand why they call them "mug rugs"! Just look at them...they look like tiny little carpets!
