Burgundy and Gold Napkins

These are a commission for my friend Erin. There are 6 napkins in burgundy and gold woven in a plaited twill pattern. They are smaller than the napkins I generally make, but turned out just about perfect!

8 Napkins

I made these for our personal use. They are made using a cotton linen blend yarn that is wonderful for kitchen linens. They are soft, durable and stain resistant. The pattern is called a plaited (or braided) twill. I've taken close-up photos so you can see the individual patterns. I love these!

Navy and Natural Napkins

These napkins are so soft. I really love them. They turned out very nice, too, and provide a very traditional pattern for a very traditional item. They will be sent to my friend Jeff for his attaining tenure this year. Congratulations Jeff!

Christmas Napkins

This is a custom order from my mom (so if you like them, you'll need to also make a custom order :) )

There are 16 napkins, 4 sets of 4. I don't know how she will give them away--in what kind of sets. I can see the sets I've put together below, or all green, or one from each group. It'll be fun to play with and think about.

They are made from a blend of cotton and linen and are really soft and wonderful to touch. The cotolin is stain resistant and washes and dries like a dream. Use them, throw them in the washer and dryer with your other towels and they are ready to go again.

A set of 8 napkins

These napkins are made using cotolin. It's a mixture of cotton and linen and I think brings the best properties of each to a project. It's a little more expensive than 100% cotton, cheaper than 100% linen, but really nice to work with and makes some very nice, soft table linens and kitchen towels. These napkins are made using up the remaining yarns I had from previous projects...and funny enough look like little folded up gum packages. They are also nice and big measuring around 18" square.

Where I've been and what I've been doing...

I promised pictures and desciptions of the trip and I failed in delivering that, but for very good reasons which I can't divulge until after the quilt bee. The girls and I leave REALLY early tomorrow morning for 3 days of fun family time and THEN I'll describe the trip with pictures...I promise!

Oh, and I'll also have pictures of my "secret" activities of the past two weeks :)

8 Little Napkins

It's hard to get a full appreciation for the napkins because they have different weaving patterns by color as well as different colors that show up so much better than this photograph. But, they're a great prototype for the kind of napkins I will make once my cotton yarn finally gets here! And I love them.
