Stress Management

Anyone out there have some good stress management tips?  I'm dealing with my 3rd migraine in a week, so apparently I'm not dealing with my stress very well, and would like to do so in a way that does not involve alcohol or migraines!  Any advice is appreciated.

Have you thought the headaches are from allergies? That is my main cause of those. Just a thought. Stress maybe you can try yoga. Mom

they could be, but the frequency and current situation makes me think it's stress. We'll see when things calm down if I'm still getting them. Could be food related...so many possibilities! Either way I am stressed. I have thought of yoga. Like it actually. Don't know where to get started with it!

Tape a few episodes of Namaste Yoga on FitTV if you get it. Otherwise, I can send you a DVD that I don't use anymore. Most are pretty easy and so relaxing but stretches and exercises you at the same time. Also, I saw this in the People's Pharmacy in the newspaper yesterday:

I started taking vitamin D-3 supplements about a year ago when my doctor tested my blood and found out I was vitamin D deficient.

Is it just a coincidence that my migraines and chronic headaches have almost disappeared? I've had them for more than 25 years, and I am glad not to be suffering.

A: There is not much research on this issue, but we found several case reports similar to your experience (Headache, September 2009). Some investigators have noted that migraines are more common in areas where vitamin D deficiency is widespread (Journal of Headache and Pain online, May 13, 2010).

Thanks BJ for the idea. I have considered getting tested for Vit. D deficiency because I have other symptoms...didn't know headaches could be one of them...guess I need to go ahead and make that appointment to the dr.
